BackyardFest is the last Summer Movie Experience event of the season at The Home DepotBackyard

ATLANTA (September17, 2025) – The HomeDepot Backyard (HDBY), as part of its Arts and Culture collection presented byThe Home Depot Foundation, is set to host its final Summer Movie Experience withBackyard Fest (or Yard Fest) on Saturday, September 27 from 6:00 to 11:00p.m.

Backyard Fest, which is inits third year of existence, is an HDBY signature event focused onpromoting family togetherness while celebrating the culture, institutions, andcommunities of Atlanta’s historic Westside.

Among the featured activations for Backyard Fest will be animmersive community painting experience with Sway Art, dance performances bythe Spelman Jaguarettes and Moving in the Spirit, sustainable arts and craftsstation courtesy of Scraplanta, silent disco courtesy of Scratch Out Loud DJExperience, performances by the Atlanta Falcons drumline, a Q&A firesidechat featuring special guests led by moderator and radio personality ArtTerrell, and more.

An on-site vendor village will also be showcased during the event, featuringa uniquely curated collection of small businesses and vendors from across metropolitanAtlanta offering a wide variety of products and services.

Entertainment for Backyard Fest will be headlined by a primetime showing on center lawn of Soul, the 2020 Academy award-winning animated comedy-drama film starringthe voices of Jamie Foxx, Tina Fey, Graham Norton, Rachel House, Alice Braga,Richard Ayoade, Phylicia Rashad, Donnell Rawlings, Questlove, and AngelaBassett. Other activations include a VIP seating experience courtesy of Picnic Time, a beer gardenpresented by SweetWater Brewing, food trucks, immersive photo experiences, giveaways, and more.

Music willbe provided by DJ MuziSean with Atlantanative Arkeedah McCormick serving as theevent’s host.  

Backyard Fest at The Home DepotBackyard is free and open to the public, but registration is required for entry. Tickets are now available via Eventbrite HERE.

The 2024 version of Backyard Fest was among the collection of events cultivatedby The Home Depot Backyard that recently garnered Gold Stevie® awards at the2025 American Business Awards®. The 2023 event also received the samedistinction by the American Business Awards® during last year’s award season.
