Blankand Bernie Marcus, co-founders of The Home Depot, and the immeasurable impacttheir shared dream has had on communities, businesses and lives across Atlantaand the country. Titans of Purpose depicts the notion Arthur and Bernieoften publicly claimed – without Home Depot, none of their impact would bepossible.

The painting symbolizes theevolution of The Home Depot and intertwines the stories of Arthur and Bernie,their pursuit of a values-driven business and their vast impact on the city ofAtlanta through the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation and the MarcusFoundation. The painting serves as a visual testament to the legacy Arthur andBernie built together and the notion that without The Home Depot, many oftoday’s most influential organizations and life-changing initiatives in Atlantawould not exist.

Having no formal training in art, Steve R. Skipper credits his artistic career and talent to his deep faith, along with his older brother Don, as the one who inspired him to draw. Now internationally renowned, Skipper has been selected for numerous prestigious commissions. He has created artwork for the University of Alabama, Auburn University, the Dallas Cowboys, NASCAR, the Professional Bull Riders, the PGA, the College Football Hall of Fame, among many other institutions and by notable athletes and celebrities. He was personally chosen by University of Alabama Head Football Coach Nick Saban as the official and endorsed artist for his first National Championship commemorative painting and limited editions. Skipper has also been commissioned to create commemorative works honoring key moments in the Civil Rights movements. He was commission from the Mayor of Selma, Alabama for a painting to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Bloody Sunday and the crossing of the Edmund Pettus Bridge. He has also painted Civil Rights leader Ambassador Andrew J. Young and that work is now a part of the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library Collection. Most recently Skipper was formally commissioned by Buckingham Palace to create a painting featuring Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Anne. The painting is included in the Royal Collection. Skipper is the first African American Artist to have his artwork as a part of the esteemed Royal Collection Trust.
